Founded in September 2018 Aweko Faith, Naluyima Shamim, and Mema Rachel set out to create a business that could help to provide employment for people in their community while helping to reduce plastic waste.

THE PROBLEM

Plastic waste disposal in Uganda is increasing. It is estimated that 600 tons of plastic are disposed of in Uganda daily - whereby 51% in the cities is left uncollected and ends up in drainage channels, natural water sources, or on the roadside - at the expense of local communities. 

THE SOLUTION

Waste is not waste until you waste it. Women in the local communities are hired to collect, wash and dry the plastic bags, after fusing the material, the bags are then transformed by young tailors into our beautiful bags.

These bags are sustainable, durable, waterproof, and affordable. Due to their strong characteristics, these bags give you comfort and safety anytime, anywhere.

THE IMPACT

By providing employment to single mothers and young marginalized tailors, it brings up a sustainable product that helps to save the environment from single-use plastic pollution.
